Marsha Sortino persistance

The Eighth Step toward Riches
Persistence - the daily actions you take and never giving up on your dreams.
It's the actions that become so strong because you finally truly believe you can do it!
You can build your business; just don't give up!
You can become a professional network marketer; just learn the skills.
You can learn to talk to people; just get on the colors training calls.
You can turn your disbeliefs into beliefs; just do a 30 day mental cleanse and continue building your character.
You can build yourself up; just do your self talk.
You can become a leader; just get on the calls and speak up.
You can build relationships with people that know like and trust you; just learn from our most brillaint leaders here at MFF.
You can help others, one person at a time and be a mentor with a servants heart; just follow the MFF recipe.
You can, you can, you can...
Now it's easy to say you can, have desires and dreams, make plans and want your success.
But the truth of the matter is that you have to work at it.
You have to peel away all that is blocking you from doing what's necessary for you to succeed.
You work out a definite plan and stick with it till you reach your goals.
After all we weren't born with with wings to fly; we had to crawl first and learn to take off... before realizing we can fly.
And we can fly once we make a definite decision that nothing and no one can stop us from reaching our dreams. It's within us, the power we have to make a decision and do it.
Doing a mental cleanse doesn't mean we will no longer have problems, that our problems will mysteriously just disappear. Doing a mental cleanse means that we can handle our problems with ease and better results.
I've been doing a mental cleanse for many months now. I have seen the growth in many people, including myself and in looking back at it all, had it not been for the mental cleanse, I probably would have given up long ago.
Michael and some of the top leaders here had to learn from their struggles as well and they did not give up. No, they kept at it till they saw results.
I see the new and up and coming leaders that cannot be denied. Ken Klemm, David Haines and Brian Redding just to mention a few.
They all started where many of us are at now at some point in this journey.
Thank God I stayed and worked on myself and will continue working on myself as I want to develop in all areas of my life.
And it's here at this mental cleanse and MFF and this mastermind group that I get true growth.
I am so appreciative that our leaders had worked hard to put together this MFF system and made sacrifices along the way in their journeys, so that we wouldn't have to make the same mistakes.
Instead we get to grow and develop using a system that's been tested and faithfully working for us.
Persistence - make it a habit and it becomes a part of You.
Never, ever give up!

Chapter 9 – Persistence
The dictionary describes persistence as the quality that allows
someone to continue doing something or trying to do something
even though it is difficult or opposed by other people.
I personally know a lot of people who did Network
Marketing years ago and today they don’t want anything to do
with it because they did not have the results they were expecting.
Most of us on these calls have done Network Marketing for years and
the majority of us did not have the results we were expecting either.
But, we have stuck with it. What made the difference?
I think the ones that don’t want anything to do with Network
Marketing expected to make money quickly and when it did not happen
they gave up not only on the business but also on themselves.
The rest of us, even though we encountered the same issues
continued to search and build. Why?
It is my belief that we've seen the big picture, we've seen the vision
of what could be and we were willing to go after it with persistence.
We did not give up on our dreams and we did not give up on ourselves.
We were and still are willing to pay the price.
Congratulations to all of you for your persistence -
without it we would all have quit a long time ago.

Colleen K. Peltomaa Persistance

Colleen K. Peltomaa

Have a Pulse, You Have a Purpose” was painted on the back of a colorful RV parked at my local Walmart. I spoke with the lady and later checked out her blogs and her poetry from the heart, and her story of how she persisted with choosing life.
[Latin persistere literally, to stand firm permanently]
Today I initially did not feel like hauling rocks and it felt like effort and my mind protested and as I persisted through the interference from body and mind, I felt more in present, and it seemed like the thing to do and any sense of effort was the body exerting muscle power, but even the body was getting into the spirit of play of it. So my persistence through some initial resistances paid off. For example, a good psychotherapist basically helps the client focus and then persist through that focus until he gets the “Aha!” moment. So we have systems of focus and persistence.
The other thing that comes up as a barrier to meeting my goals is complacency. Complacency is the effort to keep anything from changing, or believing nothing needs to change.
Also, failure to meet a daily target makes me upset with myself and, instead of getting warped about it, just say, okay that was that, time to correct now. “When is NOW the best time to continue?”
A good system of persistence is some sort of planning tool(s) that turns the goal(s) into daily action and measures progress. It can also include a reward system: “If I take my shoes off at the door for the next two weeks I will take us all out to dinner.”
Since starting this 30-day mental cleanse and working with my mentor, David H. Paul, I am getting up an hour earlier, and I also wrote out my goal plan from A to Z.
As once said, “the only way out is through”. So persist through any troubles you have gotten yourself in and have trust that all things do work together for good. Lemons can be turned into lemonade if you persist in love and faith.
In relationships this has been difficult for me because I sort of felt like life was a Greek tragedy, and so too much seriousness in relationships made it more difficult to persist through what others might view as a run of the mill upset, that I might have viewed as a hurricane force “deal breaker”. So everyone has their tolerances for persistence and best to know yourself and what your tolerances are and to understand others too.
For example, take Greens, how do they exhibit persistence? How do Blues exhibit persistence? Greens are persistent at getting the details known, and Blues are not. Blues are persistent in making sure they and their friends are getting blissed out. If you were the CEO how would you best employ someone with Green leanings? With Blue? How would you show your appreciation?
Oh, about the “cold blooded, ruthless” part: If one is too hasty in their persistence and views other people as the obstacle and inadvertently or calculatedly does not take the effort needed to communicate to a point of mutual understanding and agreement, then of course feathers are going to get ruffled.
Conservative people don't like getting their feathers wet and ruffled, and rather you kept your goals in line with theirs, so it's really not the persistency but the height or direction of the goal that can feel threatening. When you have a deeply personal goal that is unspeakable, you are setting yourself up for trouble and a lot of unnecessary need to persist through counter-efforts. If you can, simply get with some good masterminds and mentors who can help you by example to communicate your goal(s) at a level that is real to others. Learn to talk “pit talk” if you have to. It's all about helping others anyways, so best to meet others at the lowest common denominator of the people you mean to help. A good psychotherapist is always asking himself what is the best runway that will help the most people reach the highest levels of self-actualization.
Also, never force someone to persist and never prevent someone from persisting to achieve their goal(s). Both are sure ways to get into non-complementary games conditions with others. Imagine a diplomat or ambassador of a peace loving country treading toes. So, there is such a thing as persisting with diplomacy and understanding. At least take care of the poor widows of those you ran over on the way to achieving your goal [wry humor]. Best of all, hold them up as “Perfect” and believe in them and give them the time and space and 'presence' they need.
Writing this essay speaks to me probably more than to anyone else and I'm not trying to teach anyone but myself. It is a self-reflection.

Alexander Lodi Persistance

Alexander Lodi

Chapter 9 - Persistence
I have been supporting tens of people...not tons...tens so that was not a typo...with epilepsy for years now via my blog, Email and telephone support. It is said that even if some people come into our lives just for a moment, we will make some sort of impact on them to help them along their journey through life to find their purpose.
It can be trying on myself at times when I try to reach people (Get through to them) that ask for my support and their seems to be a barrier between us as some people do not want to be willing enough to speak freely about epilepsy and that in and of itself becomes their handicap until a breakthrough occurs. It takes mental toughness, a big "sticky-factor" and much persistence to assist others who have epilepsy in order to see them through the hard times.
I had a friend that I met on Epilepsy Foundation come stay with me Christmas of 2011 who had just discovered a short while ago that she has epilepsy. She would of been alone at the holidays so I graciously invited her to spend Christmas and New Years with my dad and I. After she went back home to Texas, our communication kind of diminished as she was going through more trials with her epilepsy, depression, loss of her job as a school teacher and just having a bad outlook on life over all. Even when I called her she would not pick up the phone or return my messages.
When I revised my vision board, I put her picture on it. This was about two weeks ago. Just this past Saturday - July 7th, I received this really nice text from her:
" Good morning. I know its been forever, but I've been so horridly sick that I was barely holding my head above water. I had to resign from my job and I sunk so low into the deepest darkest hole of depression known to man. But I have to tell you that when I turned it over to God, he saw me through it. I am so much better. And I'm grateful that your unwavering faith and optimism helped me get back to where I needed to be. So, when you get tired and wonder if its worth it to put yourself out there, know that you've made all the difference in the world to many because you are you."
That simple text means the world to me and no amount of money can buy the love we have for one another. That is what its all about. Persistence in its purest and simplest form will always get us through the hard times.

Ron Stewart Persistance

Ron Stewart

Well, after reading a few of the lessons here I'm not sure if I'm on the right track or not, but here goes.
I beleive persistance does get misunderstood just as Hill mentions. Some of the richest men were mistook for being cold-blooded & ruthless. I also believe persistance can be misunderstood by those trying to be persistant. For instance, someone in network marketing, sales, or any type of recruiting needs to be persistance in their actions (which is nothing more than repetition really) that is going to get them the desired results, but not become overbearing & pushy. I believe a lot of these people believe they are just being persistant when actually they are borderline harassing people. I know Hill is speaking in general in the book, bit I try to relate it to my business. So for me, this is telling me to act on my plan & repeat my actions as many times necessary until I obtain my desired results without giving in to any objections I might encounter.
