The Power of the Master Mind: the Driving Force

I don't understand how a battery works, but I've seen that principle at work in
my own life in the past week.
I'd known for many months that my alma mater was to hold a 90th Anniversary
celebration this past weekend. Many friends, old and new, would be there. Some
of them have reconnected through Facebook in recent years, but I haven't seen
them since Ian's and my wedding 30 years ago. I desperately wanted to attend.
But in our present circumstances, I knew we could not go. In my mind, it was a
flat out "No!"
I didn't know it was only in my own mind, or that there was anything I could do
to change it. There were many reasons for believing I couldn't... not the least of
which is Nathaniel's recent surgery, and the current need for orthodontic care.
I wrote to a new friend, who was having a BBQ at her home last Friday night,
and expressed my deep regret at not being there to meet her.
"How much would it cost for you to come?" she responded.
Oh no! I thought. She was supposed to see why we CAN'T come. Instead, she's
going to offer to help get us there!
It was like a switch had been flipped. Suddenly my burning desire to BE there
took over.
So I did some calculations. We didn't have to register for the official celebrations,
pay for their accommodations, or eat in the campus dining hall. We could go there
just to mingle and visit. Ian's brother had floor space for us to stay in their home.
So ALL we had to pay was the cost of car gas to get us there and back, and the
odd snack during the 4 hour trip. It was quite doable!
And we did it. We saw many friends at the BBQ, walked around campus and saw
many more, had some great visits with Ian's brother and family, saw even more
friends when we attended church with them. I even had a visit with an especially
dear friend I thought I would not see.
This is a perfect demonstration of what happens when I get out of the box and
look around to see what CAN be done. And that is why I stay plugged in to
Mentoring For Free and the 30 Mental Cleanse. A lot has happened in my life in
recent months that has threatened derailment. It is that closeness to the fire,
and the continual reminders that I CAN DO this, that keep me on track.

"POWER is essential for success in the accumulation of money. PLANS are
inert and useless, without sufficient POWER to translate them into ACTION."
Residual income has been elusive for most. Especially a residual income
through network marketing. So many want an easy path to accumulate
riches. Some leaders even promise new comers that they can easily make
a fortune with their own business. Without knowledge so many people
flounder and never reach their dreams of residual income.
I first joined network marketing with the company who is the icon of
network marketing. I tried hard to succeed, but the books and tapes didn't
make me successful.
In 2009 my husband signed us up for a new company. He paid $300.00 to join,
and our upline was 3 states away. I was looking for an income from home,
but in my mind I was also looking for a system to build online rather than
talking to friends and family. Without upline help I didn't even try to build
this business.
Later that year someone came to my door and got me in my network marketing
company. I began to see success because my sponsor was RED, and she
knew how to sell, sell, sell. She got me going right away, and I had a lot of
belief because I won the expense paid trip to the convention that year. I spent
over a year building it when I got a message from Mentoring for Free.
I had been looking for a way to build my business online. It works best for my
personality and my situation to work 100% from home.
I have always had the DESIRE part of accumulating riches down. I began by being
ALL IN from DAY 1. What I didn't know at first was how badly I needed the
mastermind to learn how to accumulate riches (a residual income).
This mastermind is so important because we talk over the principles from this
book. In it we learn to change our programming so that we can succeed in our
businesses. Just like Henry Ford we have a group of people who we confide in
and learn with. I'm so glad that I am here because I know that if I weren't that
my desire to succeed could not be fulfilled. Without a mastermind we don't have
the strength and knowledge to succeed.
"ANYBODY can WISH for riches, and most people do, but only a few know
that a definite plan, plus a BURNING DESIRE for wealth, are the only
dependable means of accumulating wealth."

In today’s world where there is so much knowledge, in the forms gathered from INFINITE INTELLIGENCE, ACCUMULATED EXPERIENCE and EXPERIMENT AND RESEARCH, no one man can hope to have the brain and mind capacity to store such a vast resource. Therefore he must call upon other people’s minds and brains to input ideas into any given burning desire.
Hill tells us that where two peoples’ brains are used in collaboration they form a third which has infinitely more capacity than the original two combined, and are thus able to convert more easily and successfully the original desire into riches. Such a combination of minds is known as a Master Mind Group.
Henry ford had a Master Mind Group of people, numbering 50, each supplying knowledge, which was not directly available to the other members of the Group.
Look at today’s large companies, why are they so successful because the call on the minds of many different faculties in the form of engineers, architects, accounts, etc. each putting forward ideas which form the driving force to bring about the desire for increased profit and riches. The small man and family companies cannot compete in such a world and thus we see the failure of so many smaller companies.
In our own lives to succeed we must also employ the Master Mind Principle to ensure that we are successful in achieving our dreams and passionate desires. I for one believed that I could do it on my own and it has been hard to reach out to others for help. I am still not used to doing it and each day I have to try and achieve asking for more help particularly in areas where I have little knowledge.
I tried building my own website but failed miserable. When I asked for help it came and the web site, which is user friendly was built in a few weeks. I had spent many hours and achieved nothing where as using a Master Mind Group my ideas were transformed into a website easily and with much more commercial attraction than I could have achieved on my own.
Likewise I have struggled with myself talk until someone pointed me towards Ken Klemm’s Training on the subject. It is much more forceful now and I know it will help remove the negative thoughts.

Chapter 10--Power of the Master Mind
One of my favorite places to hike is the Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve.
Located about forty minutes away from my house, the Little Miami River lazily winds its way through John Bryan State Park in Greene County, Ohio. You can stand on the footbridge at John Bryan and watch the fish swim through the crystal clear water below.
But if you take the trail that leads to the Gorge, you are in for a dramatic change.
One of the finest examples of post-glacial erosion in Ohio is the Clifton Gorge. The tall, naturally chiseled sides of the Gorge were formed by the erosion of different layers of rock. The more resistant rock forms the upper cliff, which rises 40-50 feet. The less resistant rock beneath have weathered out to form recesses. In many places, the rock separated along fracture planes and collapsed to form slump blocks. The scenery is breath-taking as you wind your way deeper and deeper along the Narrow’s Trail.
The once tranquil Little Miami River becomes a force of sheer energy as it plunges through the narrow passage created by the vast rock formations. The sound of the white-water intensifies as you approach the narrowest parts of the Gorge.
As you look at the powerful current and its exponential energy, it’s difficult to believe that this is the same water that moments ago was a tranquil home for fish and wildlife.
A mastermind group can be likened to the towering rock walls of the Gorge.
When I surrender to the positive energy created by this Mastermind, my effectiveness as a leader intensifies. The group is part of something much greater than that which is visible to the eye.
While most of us are here because we want to grow our businesses and improve our finances, the greater desire is that we want to contribute more to our family, or our church, or our community. We want “more-better-or different” for the lives of our children and grandchildren. We desire to raise up more leaders that will make this world a better place for future generations.
Like a mighty rock formation, this Mastermind group surrounds me. While I may feel small and insignificant, when I yield to the corporate energy, a supernatural force begins to work. As part of something greater than the sum of all our knowledge and experiences, I now have more power and prosperity in my life than I can imagine.
Like the white-water of the Clifton Gorge, the positive emotions of a mastermind group are so powerful, they can chisel a path through rock. No matter what obstacles are in my path, the force of the Mastermind can help me overcome them and even use them to help me be better.
So lace up your hiking shoes and come along for the journey of your life.
