Transparency or Privacy? My Daily Question as a Chronic Illness Warrior.

I am just curious, do you prefer Open Communication or Keeping Some Secrets? 🤔

This isn’t just a casual question for me; it’s a daily consideration as someone living with a disability and chronic condition, striving to transform my life and health. It impacts everything from my personal relationships to how I navigate my entrepreneurial journey as a network marketer/MLM rep.

On one hand, Open Communication feels liberating. Sharing openly about my health challenges, my adaptive strategies, and my journey helps:

* Build deeper, more authentic connections with family, friends, and my team.

* Educate others and break down stigma.

* Find support and understanding.

* Attract those who resonate with my transparent approach.

But then there’s the pull to Keep Some Secrets (or at least maintain privacy). Sometimes, sharing everything can lead to:

* Unwanted advice or pity.

* Feeling overexposed or defined solely by my condition.

* The emotional labor of constantly explaining myself.

* Protecting my energy for what truly matters.

For all of us – entrepreneurs, parents, healthy individuals – working on transforming our lives, we constantly weigh how much of our personal battles, strategies, or even vulnerabilities to share. There’s a delicate balance between authenticity that fosters connection and privacy that protects our peace.

What’s your take on this balance, especially as you build your business or nurture your family?

I’d love to hear your thoughts! Which do you lean towards, and why? Share your perspective in the comments below – your insights are invaluable! 👇
