I grew up

"I grew up in a home where physical activity was rare and soft drinks were the primary source of hydration—for some in my family, it still is. I followed that path for years, surviving on sugar and caffeine, often finishing a 1.25-litre bottle of Coke in just a few hours. By my 30s, my body felt like a battleground: I was managing significant spinal challenges, recurring knee dislocations, and multiple sprained ankles that left my joints 'grouchy' and stiff every morning.

In 2006, I was told by professionals that I was heading for severe, permanent health complications. I decided to prove the experts wrong. I spent years in physiotherapy rebuilding my foundation. When I lost my first 10kg, my doctor admitted he hadn't actually believed I could do it. Between 2006 and 2008, I lost over 40 kilos. Today, I’ve replaced the sugar with a focus on cellular health. I’ve gone from barely managing two minutes of cardio to swimming 48 laps a session. I’m no longer just 'getting by'—I’ve reclaimed my movement and my energy."

Saturday Reflection: Building a Legacy That Outlasts Your Effort

Saturday Reflection: Building a Legacy That Outlasts Your Effort

As we wrap up this week focused on systems and sustainability, I wanted to share the heart behind the "Digital Recliner."

Building a business with a disability requires more than just a good CRM; it requires a deep, unshakable reason to keep going. For me, that reason is Jamie and Jenny. I am using the Success in 10 Steps framework to build a "10-Step Legacy"—a business that provides for my family regardless of my physical capacity on any given day.

Today’s Question: What does "Legacy" mean to you? Is it financial freedom, or the character you leave behind?
Let’s talk about the big picture in the comments.

The 10-Step Legacy: Building a Future That Doesn’t Depend on My Stamina

The 10-Step Legacy: Building a Future That Doesn’t Depend on My Stamina

If your business depends on you being at 100% health every single day, you haven’t built a business—you’ve built a trap. 🛑

This week, we’ve talked about automation, patience, and leading from the gap. But today, I want to share the "Why" behind all of it. As a Dadpreneur managing chronic health conditions, my greatest fear wasn't failure; it was building something that would crumble the moment I needed to rest.

Why I Build the "10-Step Legacy":
Security for Jamie & Jenny: I’m using the Success in 10 Steps framework to create a system that provides for my family regardless of my physical capacity.

Modeling Resilience: I want my son, Jamie, to see that a disability isn't a ceiling; it's just a reason to build a better ladder.

Freedom from the "Hustle": By pointing to tools instead of being the "Guru," I’ve created a business that respects my recovery time.

Today’s Question: What does "Legacy" mean to you? Is it a financial number, or is it the example of resilience you leave for the next generation?

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Let’s build something that lasts.
