A fellow genius once told me . . .
Okay, okay. Maybe I'm grossly enhancing my cerebral powers, but at least the other guy was a genius.
Here is what this marketing genius said:
To sell a woman anything, simply put these words in front of what you're selling:
1. Sugar-free.
2. One calorie.
3. On sale.
To sell a man anything, simply put this word in front of what you're selling:
1. Turbo.
So I tested his theory. I said to my wife, Susan:
"I think it was on sale."
She replied:
"What? What was on sale? How much? Is it still on sale? Where was it? Do I have enough time to go now?"
Gee, I didn't even say what was on sale. Pretty powerful stuff.
Unfortunately my wife knows all things -- even the "Turbo" technique. So one day she tells me:
"And now it comes in a turbo model."
I reacted:
"What? A turbo model? What kind? How fast? Does it have extra options? Will it be faster than my friend's? How powerful is it?"
So why not position your products and opportunity with these tips in mind? For instance, you could say:
One calorie super vitamin program.
Quick start distributor kit now on sale.
Turbo MLM (Hey, what a great name for a book!)
Turbo training day.
Sugar-free munchie bar.
Get the idea? It is what we say that makes a difference.

An easy way to prepare your prospects while having a mid-summer picnic.
You're sitting at the beach with all your boring relatives. To keep the conversation going, you say:
"I decided that I'm going to set some new goals for this year. I'm not happy just staying in the same place year after year. I'm not waiting for January 1. I'm setting new goals now."
Now, what is your brother-in-law going to say? He can't appear to be a boring unmotivated jerk. I'm sure he won't say:
"Well, I hope next year will be just the same as this year. I enjoyed working 50 weeks and really appreciated the two weeks I got for vacation. And my family loved the peace and quiet around the house when I worked all that overtime. Yep, I sure hope I get to do it again."
Instead, maybe your brother-in-law will say:
"You know what? I'm not that happy with only two weeks of vacation. I can't see spending the entire year working, and doing the same thing year after year. Maybe I should think about a change?"
And now the conversation begins.

Great headline, eh?
If you don't capture your prospect's imagination and attention with a great first sentence or headline ... you don't have a prospect.
Always think hard about what your first sentence will be. Your career depends on it.
And now for some examples:
* "Is your boss an unpleasant drill sergeant?"
* "The get-rich plan for people over 40."
* "How a 29-year-old housewife stays at home and still receives a full-time paycheck."
* "Let this one-hour free tele-class teach you the secrets of being your own boss."
Remember, first sentences are used by your competition. Everyone is vying for your prospect's money.
