Chapter 14
THE SIXTH SENSE
THE DOOR TO THE TEMPLE OF WISDOM
The Thirteenth Step toward Riches
The sixth sense, the thirteenth step towards riches, can only be developed when we have mastered the other twelve steps. It is the apex on how we can control our minds.
They previous chapters showed us how we can develop different positive emotions of our subconscious mind through a master mind group and self-talk or autosuggestion.
Hill takes us a little further in that he describes how our minds can be so developed that we can communicate with Infinite Intelligence.
This is when we can control our imagination and see things by getting hunches or ideas in the form of energy from Universal Power.
Through meditation and self-thought we can develop our sixth sense to the point that it can warn us if we are about to experience danger just like having a “Guardian Angel”.
Hill created an imaginary group of nine men who he really emulated. He loved what each man brought to the table and used all 9 of them to teach himself some of the knowledge that they had acquired.
This imaginary “Mastermind Group” of imaginary men helped Hill develop his imagination or sixth sense as he got many ideas from these men when he would hold nightly council meetings when all 9 men appeared.
He then added more than 50 additional men to this group to help him develop his sixth sense to an even greater level. All 50 of these additional men had traits that he wanted to develop in himself.
Just like this book and our mastermind group has helped all of us to start developing our subconscious mind and as we all know it doesn’t come easy as it requires a lot of work and a lot of exercise of our grey matter, we can also develop our sixth sense and our imaginations.
It will come by creating our own imaginary counsel of men and women who we may look up to, namely, John F. Kennedy, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, etc… We may have to do some research on each of these men so we can get to know them better so that we would know how they would react if we asked them a certain question.
I am definitely at the point in my Mental Cleanse development to start developing my Sixth sense because even though I have not completely mastered the proceeding 12 steps towards riches (and probably will never fully master and don’t want to because I want to continue on learning).
This will move me into the spiritual which I will have to trust even though I may not have proof of it. I know gravity exists. I know energy exists.
But both cannot be seen by the human eye. I know that an acorn will turn into an oak tree and I know that summer always fallows winter.
I know that I will develop my sixth sense because I am determined, it’s that simple.
Thanks to Michael and Linda for creating the Mentoring for Free system and this thought provoking mastermind team. As we strive for perfection, I am sure that excellence will come our way.
I love you all … Brian in Chicago

Sixth sense Positive thinking, Negative thinking
Today I am asking the question why is it that many of us are warned of impending danger from our sixth sense?
I believe the answer lies in the negativity that surrounds us.
You see if we live in an environment full of negativity then we are attracting negative thoughts towards us.
This means that we are in danger.
So it stands to reason that our sixth sense would be on high alert for any danger coming away.
Here is the paradox. We expect danger because of our negative environment.
We think about danger because of the negative thoughts of other brains around us.
So our sixth sense warns us of the danger that we expect to get.
It's time to create a positive environment! We all know how! So why do we take so long
to embrace it?
Live your life in the now.
Allow yourself to be immersed in positive emotions.
Embrace your hunches and inspirations from your sixth sense.
Create the life you were meant to live.
Don't make any more excuses.
Flow with the positive energy and inspire others to do the same.
Awareness of how you can live your life to its fullest is starting point to
achieving your dreams.
Take action, have faith, persevere, stoke up your desires into burning desires
and hang on grimly as the waves of achievement roll into your life. Do all of
these and complete the awareness that you have!
To be aware and to do nothing or not enough, is worse than not being
aware of what your life could be like.
Michael's classic quote comes to the fore here.
Don't die with your music still inside you.
Oh by the way I am writing the above directions to remind me of
the power I have unearthed. I hope it triggers of your memory
and helps you take action.
Love you all!

CHAPTER 14
THE SIXTH SENSE
THE DOOR TO THE TEMPLE OF WISDOM
The Thirteenth Step toward Riches
I have learned that the Sixth Sense comes to me more readily when I live in the present moment. When I am living in the moment, I have clarity, I see more, feel more, sense more. This allows a heightened awareness of what is going on around me. When I have a “déjà vu” moment, I know that I was living in the present at that moment. These “déjà vu” moments are a good indicator for me. Understanding of the sixth sense comes by meditation and development from within, sounds like living in the present and the consistent use of self-talk!
Hill tells us that the next best thing to being truly great is to emulate the great, by feeling and action as closely as possible. I believe this will take imagination, a definite desire and consistent progress, with Desire being the starting point. The finishing point becomes a Knowledge that leads to understanding of our self, others, the laws of Nature and the recognition and understanding of Happiness! This will come fully with the use of the principle of the Sixth Sense. Understanding this statement benefits those who demand more than money. Ponder on that one for a while and be enlightened!
The Sixth Sense is definitely Spiritual in nature, using the Sixth sense requires a trusting Faith that will spur me into action, without even thinking twice about it! I have learned often the hard way, to trust my Sixth Sense. It is more accurate and knowledgeable than my “thinking brain”!
This is a deep chapter, I got shivers when Hill talked about the eternal units or entities of energy! My own Thoughts and Desires attract the ones that harmonize with the nature of My Desires! Yep, I AM totally responsible for what I draw to me! The onus is on No One but Me!
Blessings,

“Some people when they get the tiniest amount of freedom fall off the wagon and stop doing everything they were taught to do. Why does this happen? Simply because they are now in an environment where they find themselves with no structure-no one telling them what to do.” - Jeff Olson “The Slight Edge”
Ouch! This hit me like a 2 by 4 right between the eyes. This explains why I struggle with plugging in, staying close to the fire, or as stated in Olson’s book-showing up.
Look at the name of this chapter, “The Door to the Temple of Wisdom.” All I have to do is open the door and walk through it. However, in my corporate career I was programmed to show up, do the work somebody told me to do, and then get a paycheck. That went on for 25 years. Now in 11 years retirement, I still get a paycheck, but no one is telling me what to do. I just realized that I am not lazy. What I lack is structure; a system, a method to accomplish tasks, tools to help me, and the faith/belief that I deserve to succeed.
So where do I get a system, a method to accomplish tasks, tools to help me, and the faith/belief that I deserve to succeed?
By showing up with some consistency. This is a full-time effort. I don’t mean that 24 hours a day you are working your business. At least have it rolling around in your head all day long, and that is where AUTO SUGGESTION comes in. It is funny how this concept on how to change your thinking keeps showing up in each chapter of this book.
I met Michael, Linda, and Ken Klemm earlier this year, and I gotta tell ya, they are “MLM Geeks.” We went out for dinner and all they talked about was MLM this and MLM that. I tried to break it up by telling one of my favorite jokes about 3 dogs at a veterinarian’s office. We all laughed, so I thought that maybe some more jokes or a new topic of discussion would come up, and then it was back to MLM this and MLM that. Talk about focus!
If you can’t show up to the live calls, listen to the recordings afterwards. Read good books. Since we all can’t meet every day to share ideas and brainstorm, then, use the method that Hill teaches. That is, conjure up in your mind a meeting with successful people that you know and start to dialogue around the subject of MLM this and MLM that. If this is constantly in your mind, then the Sixth Sense will kick in and start sending you what you need.
I have seen first hand what being an “MLM Geek” can do for a person/persons who believed they could create the life style everyone on the planet dreams about during my visit to Florida.
So, it is time for me to open up the door to wisdom and pass through it. I want to be an MLM Geek!
Thanks to all for showing me the way.

Tony Koker, Stoughton, Massachusetts

Tony Koker, Stoughton, Massachusetts

A sixth sense, a portion of our subconscious mind, our "Creative Imagination", "a receiving set for ideas, plans and thoughts" are all phrases that Napoleon Hill uses to describe this week's topic. Intuition, gut feeling, instinct, knowing that we know, if you know what I mean are also phrases that could be used.
Mental and spiritual ... Miracles ... Aha, eureka or epiphany moments ... these are the results we achieve or are achieved on our behalf.
Once we can relate to what it is, how do we endeavor to use it? The steps have been clearly outlined during our journey through the preceding chapters. We can then receive "without efforts or demands."
A virtual mastermind group is a solution that Napoleon Hill describes, perhaps to embarrassing detail (to himself), through much of the latter part of the chapter. Even this seems to have worked, for a time, then it didn't work so well, or he lost faith in it. It was then abandoned, only to return again in urnest but in a further evolved and more insistent form. The focal characters were always shifting and changing over time. A student of the characters he was able to leverage their gifts for his behalf.
Is this a form your Creative Imagination is suggesting you should use? If so, who are your Counselors? Are they your heroes? Are they real or fictitious? So often I have found myself focused upon someone who themselves are a creation of someone else's imagination. How do I stay focused in reality, yet avail myself of this enormously powerful ability? Growing up I admired Sherlock Holmes as a role model. I've even tried to focus on real people, but most that I look to, when scrutinized expose their flaws. We all have these. That's why we need so many on our committee. We have to be able to balance the positives and stay focused on our true desires as they further unfold. We are multifaceted diamonds, but still in-the-rough on many edges. We may believe we understand what our true desires are, but, as we grow, we learn that these too evolve into even greater places.
Of all of the characters who are on my committee, those who remain silent, in the dark recesses towards the back, step forward into the foreground, in the bright light to be heard again when the time is right. I call them characters, because, although they do start off as real as possible people, they always seem to become a little glamorized. I've found they tend to be flawless in their special attribute(s) and have managed to completely reduce any negative side effects to nearly imperceptible. But that, after all, is what we are really trying to do with ourselves, isn't it?
With all of the media that bombards us daily it is extremely difficult to stay focused in real role models. It has to be worked at. We have to eliminate those who let the distracting creep in, while we have to also work to surround ourselves as much as possible with those who are focused and taking action. We can meet with them on the phone, in person, or, by other means. Perhaps we can even arrange to sit down and have a meal with them, or travel and visit or even vacation with them. Even brief encounters can plant the seeds for a successful addition to the mastermind.
I could write volumes about my counselors. My dad, who passed away in 1989, is still a major and active participant in my committee. The epitome of self-sacrifice, he never wavers in his dedication to actively performing to be of benefit to all those around him. My wife, who has found and uses the secret of service to others as the means in indirectly achieving her own desires. Even my children, who have grown into critical thinking adults. They too provide me with constant council using the evolved fusion of the experiences they've had and are still having on their journeys, but from new perspectives. Many teachers as well as historical figures also play roles. I constantly read to explore for others who may have learned just one more special ingredient to be added to the recipe.
If you are not inspired to utilize Hill's process of a virtual mastermind what do you do? How vivid can this process become? Can you see images of places, people and things, much like a dream, but remaining fully conscious? Is it day dreaming? Such an intense state of deep focus of vibration and thought could be considered meditation. Yet it all seems to occur in an instant. And complex challenges are dealt with over many of these sessions over, possibly, a great deal of time.
The sum total of all that we have explored so far, this is certainly the master key with which to unlock all doors.
with gratitude and in service,
Tony, Lisa, Michael and Amanda Koker
