Monday Mindset: Choosing the Right Mentors for the Long Haul
One of the first things I learned in the Success in 10 Steps framework is that you can’t do this alone. But 'not alone' doesn't just mean having a team; it means having a guide.
Whether it’s working with my friend Dan on technical database projects or listening to Bob Proctor during a health flare-up, my mentors provide the blueprint when my own energy is low. They’ve taught me to lead from the gap and to value my time as my most precious resource.
Today’s Question: If you could sit down for green tea with any mentor in history, who would it be and what one question would you ask them?

From Lego Castles to Global Horizons: Imagining My Extraordinary Future
We all have dreams, don't we? Those secret blueprints of a life we yearn for, etched into the landscape of our minds. For me, that landscape has always been incredibly vivid. From the intricate Lego spaceships and futuristic computer designs I conjured as a child, to the sprawling 1,000-page story I poured my heart into, my imagination has been a constant companion—a boundless universe within.
As a network marketer navigating life with chronic conditions, Chapter 6 of Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich—the chapter on Imagination—resonates with me on a profoundly personal level. It’s more than just a concept; it’s a mental workshop where the seemingly impossible takes shape. Despite the physical realities I navigate daily, my mind remains a fertile ground for dreaming big, and importantly, for planning big.
Imagination: The Unseen Architect of Our Lives
Hill describes imagination as "the workshop of the mind," the faculty through which we translate impulse, desire, and plans into form. For those of us managing unique life circumstances, this power is transformative. It’s not about escaping reality; it’s about actively shaping it, visualizing a life of vitality, and laying the mental groundwork to bring it into being.
For me, this means not just wishing for change, but truly seeing it and feeling it. I close my eyes and design a future filled with purpose, energy, and enriching experiences.
From Childhood Dreams to Global Adventures
My history as a dreamer runs deep. I wasn't just building Lego spaceships; I was commanding them through intergalactic sagas. This foundational imaginative muscle is what I now flex to build my future.
I envision traveling the world with my family—walking hand-in-hand with my wife, Jenny, and seeing the world through the eyes of our son, Jamie. I see us not just visiting landmarks, but truly experiencing cultures, wandering through ancient cities, and laughing together over meals in far-off lands. It’s a life filled with connection and shared joy.
Then there’s my dream home: a haven designed to support my general well-being and creative pursuits. Nestled within is my ultimate passion project: a sprawling model railway layout. This is where my imagination truly takes physical form. It features the Sytoomba Mountains, a blend of the rugged trek from Sydney to the Blue Mountains infused with my own designs and thoughts. Using a bit of "modeller’s license," the landscape transitions into the Drake Mountains, home to a fantastical Disney-themed ski resort. This meticulously crafted world brings a sense of detailed accomplishment—every track laid is a testament to patience and vision.
The Power of Belief (and Believers)
I’ve learned that the journey accelerates when someone else believes in you—when their faith acts as a catalyst for your own. In my network marketing journey, the power of a supportive community is immense. I think of the close friends like Dan who have walked this path with me, and the incredible team we are building together.
I imagine our team as a thriving hub for mumpreneurs, dadpreneurs, and driven entrepreneurs from all walks of life. Whether you are already a veteran in the industry or someone looking at this world for the first time, wondering if there is a place for your dreams, I see a community that supports one another’s growth. This isn't about being told you'll achieve specific financial outcomes, but about having a network that believes in your capacity for hard work, dedication, and your ability to learn and grow. Their belief empowers me to push past perceived limitations and stay committed to the process.
Crafting My Reality, One Vision at a Time
My imagination is the drawing board for my actions. It allows me to build a mental blueprint for a life of enhanced vitality and robust lifestyle choices, even amidst the hurdles of chronic conditions. It fuels my dedication to my business, rooted in the understanding that consistent effort and personal development are the keys to unlocking these aspirational experiences.
Every day, I revisit these visions. I don’t just dream of the destination; I visualize the journey, the commitment, and the growth required to get there. It’s about building a life by design, one conscious thought and one dedicated action at a time.
What Dreams Are You Building?
"Imagination is more important than knowledge," Einstein famously said. For me, this holds true. It’s the engine that propels me forward, allowing me to build a future vibrant with possibility.
So, I invite you to join me. What incredible lifestyle are you imagining for yourself and your loved ones? Remember, the journey requires hard work and consistent effort, but with imagination as your guide and a supportive community of like-minded entrepreneurs by your side, the potential for a truly extraordinary life is limitless.
Let’s build those dreams together.

The Master Plan: Engineering Your Life as a "Dadpreneur"
Ever feel like life is throwing curveballs, especially when navigating the unique landscape of chronic conditions? You’re not alone. Building a fulfilling life isn’t just a wish—it’s a meticulously crafted master plan.
Today, I’m sharing how I apply Chapter 7, "Organized Planning," from Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich, to engineer a blueprint for vitality, purpose, and independence. It’s a journey with unique challenges, but also incredible opportunities for growth.
The Blueprint: Organized Planning in Action
Just as a master builder starts with a detailed blueprint, or a dedicated enthusiast meticulously plans every turnout and gradient of a model railway, a thriving life requires organized planning.
This isn't about rigid schedules that ignore personal energy shifts. Instead, it’s about having a flexible, strategic vision. For me, this means taking my goals and systematically creating a path to bring them to fruition. It’s about proactive steps—laying the track ahead of time so the journey is smoother later.
Engineering Your Wellness Journey
Managing a business while prioritizing wellness means carefully mapping out daily routines. Organized planning helps me stay on track with my vitality without reactive scrambling.
Think of it like maintaining a locomotive: consistent, small maintenance tasks contribute to a resilient system.
Mindful Movement: Incorporating daily activity that respects my body’s limits.
Nutritional Focus: Choosing fuel that supports sustained energy throughout the day.
Restorative Rest: Prioritizing recovery to ensure I can show up effectively for my family and community.
Full Steam Ahead: The Power of Network Marketing
Network marketing has offered incredible flexibility. It’s about building something meaningful that works in harmony with my lifestyle and energy levels. This path provides a platform to develop leadership skills, build a supportive community, and create a positive impact.
In this space, organized planning means having a clear strategy, identifying mentors, and setting realistic milestones. Whether you’re a dadpreneur or a visionary builder, a well-thought-out plan is the engine that keeps your business moving forward toward greater time freedom and lifestyle flexibility.
Connecting the Tracks: Relationships & Community
No layout is complete without the connections that hold it together.
Relationships are the invisible tracks of our lives. For those of us managing chronic conditions, a strong support network of family and friends provides the essential ballast for our journey.
Volunteering is another vital connection point, offering a sense of belonging and a way to give back to the community. Organized planning means consciously nurturing these ties—scheduling quality time with loved ones and engaging actively with my team.
Building Your Financial Locomotive
Financial intelligence is a cornerstone of true independence. It’s about understanding resources, creating a solid budget, and making informed decisions to foster long-term stability.
Like a conductor managing a schedule, I aim to allocate time and resources wisely. This isn’t about instant results; it’s about adopting habits that lead to financial flexibility and more options. A well-crafted plan is the first step toward a future where you have the freedom to focus on what matters most.
Conclusion: Your Master Plan Awaits!
My journey is a testament to the power of a clear blueprint. It’s about meeting challenges with strategy and pursuing dreams with deliberate action. It’s not always a straight line—there are detours and steep climbs—but with patience and persistence, we can all engineer a life of purpose.

"I grew up in a home where physical activity was rare and soft drinks were the primary source of hydration—for some in my family, it still is. I followed that path for years, surviving on sugar and caffeine, often finishing a 1.25-litre bottle of Coke in just a few hours. By my 30s, my body felt like a battleground: I was managing significant spinal challenges, recurring knee dislocations, and multiple sprained ankles that left my joints 'grouchy' and stiff every morning.
In 2006, I was told by professionals that I was heading for severe, permanent health complications. I decided to prove the experts wrong. I spent years in physiotherapy rebuilding my foundation. When I lost my first 10kg, my doctor admitted he hadn't actually believed I could do it. Between 2006 and 2008, I lost over 40 kilos. Today, I’ve replaced the sugar with a focus on cellular health. I’ve gone from barely managing two minutes of cardio to swimming 48 laps a session. I’m no longer just 'getting by'—I’ve reclaimed my movement and my energy."
