Choosing wisely the company or product You are associated with. My mentor Michael Dlouhy says this in his book success in 10 steps which is available mentorben.com.

As Michael says You need a product which others are seeking and after. There is no need for the product to be just what You like. It does however help when You also enjoy the product too. As You can the n talk about your own experience with the product.
At the same time You need to choose a company which is reputable and has been in business for longer than 2 years. That way the company has gone through the start up phase. But also never join a prelaunch as they may be building on a list of names to market to. Unfortunately there are those companies which do sell those lists.
There are a number of criteria which Linda and Michael refer to in their book success in 10 steps which are called the five pillars of success which can help You to understand why your lack of success is Your entrepreneurial career is not Your fault. Michael refers to these in his book.
