CHAPTER 2
DESIRE
THE STARTING POINT OF ALL ACHIEVEMENT
The First Step toward Riches
Today I realized that it was Wednesday and I hadn't even touched my mental cleanse lesson.
I was so concentrated in a burning desire to reach goals this week that took up my time.
And when you have burning desires to reach goals, seems that time is irrelevant and you just keep moving.
And I must post my mental cleanse lesson also because it's the energy I crave from my master mind group that helps me throughout the week. And so I start off with an appreciative heart and thank you all for lifting me up.
What is desire?
The dictionary explains Desire as:
1) A strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.
2) Strongly wish for or want (something).
Philosophers such as Plato and Socrates have argued that desire needs a higher ideal than just being a mere wish, that it is often the cause of unrest in a person's soul when not properly managed with reason.
And we all know that a wish is only a wish and becomes a desire when we take action.
A "burning desire" or "definite desire" then is what Hill describes as necessary to have in our hearts if we are to receive. This seems to me like the ritual of preparation in receiving all good gifts
We have to be ready to receive and possess what we believe we already have in our minds and feel that stirring in our heats that causes a spark called a burning desire!
We see it, feel it, taste it, smell it, hear the sounds of creative imagination guiding us and accept the challenges along the way because we BELIEVE that we're already in possesion of our desires!
What this absolute burning desire does then is kick start our definiteness of purpose into high gear so we take action!
Not just wish or dream away without doing what's necessary to fulfill our purpose - our desire - our life.
And for me, the highest desire is to have an intimate and burning desire to know and love God. To me, it's God first and all else falls in place.
All these burning desires in my heart, where did they come from?
I know without a doubt that God did not place this burning desire in my heart to succeed in my business for no reason.
It's here in my heart and been here for so long that I know that God has a purpose and will guide me in fulfilling my purpose.
I hope all of us keep our burning desires alive! And to be alive means we take daily actions to fulfilling our burning desires.
Have faith and keep your burning desires alive. You'll never experience the journey unless you start being, not just wishing and hoping to create your life! Start being your creation!

Desire, where do you start, or is that the starting place? When we desire something, what do we do about getting it? How bad do you want it? Mr. Barnes wanted to be a business partner of Mr. Edison. He did whatever he had to do in Mr. Edison's organization, as if He was already Mr. Edison's partner. As we know it took Him awhile to recognize the opportunity to make Him Mr. Edison's partner.
We all have the desire to accomplish something, and that is going to be different for each person. Let me explain it this way. I had a family member who was sick. I had been in contact with Him on and off for awhile. This one day, I'm working at my desk and I have this strong feeling (I mean very strong feeling that I needed to call him), almost to an obsession, until I stopped what I was doing and made the phone all.
I believe Desire could almost be an obsession, to accomplish something, like I had to make that phone. Desire, hopefully will keep you on track to accomplish what you want so you don't quit. Mr. Barnes did not quit!
My desire is to be successful in my business, through research, I found a place to learn the skills required to be successful. Yes, it has taken awhile to find someone willing to teach these skills. I found no assistance from people to assist you. One day, I had someone sign up in one of the programs I was in, and I didn't have the foggiest what to tell them about the business. That was the day I said I need to find out the skills to teach people what to do. I found Mentoring for Free!
I also watched a movie called "Pay it Forward" the concept the teacher shared with the students was great as the one student tried to apply what his teacher taught. Helping people to be successful in my opinion is another way of paying it forward. The student had a desire to help change the world. (you can Google "Pay it Forward")
I'm sure at one time or another you have thought yourself into a successful accomplishment. You thought about something long enough you found the answer. I have!
Look at the deaf child, for 6 cents he created a new world.
Learning these business skills, and passing them on to others, those who partake, how will we be able to help change their world?
It is my opinion that we need to be organized, and self talk our desire to succeed in our plan.
To me learning these skills is important to help others.
