Our emotions need to be as educated as our intellect. It is important to know how to feel, how to respond, and how to let life in so that it can touch you.

Civilization is the intelligent management of human emotions.

Measure your emotions. You don't need an atomic explosion for a minor point.

Women have an incredible ability to pick up on emotional signals. For example, there are some wolves that are so clever they have learned to dress up like sheep. Man says, "Looks like a sheep. Talks like a sheep." Woman says, "Ain't no sheep!"

My kamikaze wife teaches me a cool prospecting lesson while driving at 105 mph.
My wife is speeding along at 105 mph. I'm sitting quietly in the passenger seat, mostly because my fear is making it impossible for me to speak.
Finally I blurt out,
   "Dear, you shouldn't be going 105 mph!"
My wife calmly turns to me and says:
   "But dear, you are also going 105 mph."
How could I argue with that logic? I guess I just wasn't seeing things from her point of view.
It's the same principle when we talk with tough prospects. They believe that they can't or shouldn't do network marketing.
We can instantly change their point of view by saying:
"Most people do network marketing every day, but they just don't get paid for it."
Then we can explain how everyone recommends and promotes things every day, and we just choose to get paid for it instead of doing it for free.
Now the prospects are thinking:
"Hmmm, there are two types of people in the world. Those that collect a network marketing check every month, and those that don't. Which group do I want to be in?"
We have effectively changed the prospects' point of view. Now the prospects believe that they are already networking, so we can skip that entire part of our presentation.

If you don't capture your prospect's imagination and attention with a great first sentence or headline ... you don't have a prospect.
Always think hard about what your first sentence will be. Your career depends on it.
And now for some examples:

* "Make age spots and wrinkles only memories of the past."
* "Would it be okay if your electric bill was lower?"
* "If you don't have time to exercise, this is the diet for you."
Remember, first sentences are used by your competition. Everyone is vying for your prospect's money.

When we first start our network marketing career, we think our job is to get information to our prospects so they can make a decision to join, or not to join.
So we prospect, call for appointments, give endless presentations ... and submit our entire business to the conscious mind. A mistake.
The reality is, our workplace is in the subconscious mind of our prospects. And if we aren't working there, we're not working.
One of the 25 skills we should master is how to talk directly to the subconscious minds of our prospects. If we don't know that, it's going to be an ugly career of frustrating presentations and work.
