Your Diagnosis Is Not Your Destiny.
There’s a Jim Rohn quote that changed everything for me: “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”
For anyone living with a chronic condition or disability, this hits differently.
“Their” plan for us is often a life of managing symptoms, endless appointments, and lowered expectations. It’s a plan built on limitations, not possibilities.
I rejected that plan. I decided that my life would be defined by my ambition, not my diagnosis.
That meant finding a way to work that honours my body’s needs—flexible hours, the ability to work from my couch (or even a hospital bed), and an income not tied to a 9-to-5 schedule. It meant building a future for my family on my own terms.
Whether you’re a parent juggling kids and a career, an entrepreneur chasing a dream, or someone fighting a daily health battle—the question is the same: Who is designing YOUR life?
Don’t settle for “not much.” You deserve it all.
