Redefining Success: One small step at a time.
Ever feel like the world is screaming at you to make massive leaps, while you're just trying to find solid ground for the next step?
There's a powerful quote by psychologist Kurt Lewin that completely changed how I view progress, especially as someone navigating life and business with a chronic condition:
"A successful individual typically sets his next goal somewhat but not too much above his last achievement. In this way he steadily raises his level of aspiration."
For many entrepreneurs, the "last achievement" was a sales record or a new rank. But for those of us with chronic conditions or disabilities, sometimes the last achievement was getting out of bed on a high-pain day. It was making dinner for the family. It was having the mental energy to read a chapter of a book.
And that is just as valid.
This isn't a story of limitation; it's a story of sustainable success. It's permission to stop comparing your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20.
Your "next goal" doesn't have to be monumental.
It can be:
* Making one more call than you did yesterday.
* Learning one new skill this week.
* Following up with one person.
By setting our sights just a little higher than what we know we just accomplished, we build real, lasting momentum. We raise our own bar at a pace that honors our health, our families, and our journey.
That's how we transform our lives—not with one giant leap, but with a thousand intentional steps forward.
