If you’ve spent your life being told that other people’s needs come first

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💙👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 If you’ve spent your life being told that other people’s needs come first, it can be hard to flip the switch. For many of us, the idea of putting ourselves first feels selfish. We think, “I’ll get to it later,” or “I’m fine, they need it more.” But this mindset is unsustainable.

As an entrepreneur, a parent, a network marketer, or someone focused on health, your personal well-being is the engine that drives everything else. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Putting yourself first sometimes isn’t selfish—it’s essential. It allows you to recharge, refuel, and show up as your best self for the people and things you care about.

It’s about finding a balance. It’s not about always putting yourself first, but about recognizing when you need to. That could mean taking a 15-minute walk, saying no to an extra commitment, or simply blocking out time in your schedule just for you.
