I've belonged to many mastermind groups in my life: support groups, committees, 12 step groups, youth groups, high school band, my church community. Most of these groups had a very positive impact on my growth and development. In fact, I would say that a vast majority of my growth and development over the course of my entire life has been the direct result of participating in mastermind groups of one sort or another.  I that is the case, and it clearly is so, then why is it, when it come to running a business ,whether it's my foster home or my network marketing business, I seem to think that I have to do it all myself. "If it is going to be, it is up to me!", my mind rings out. Somehow I have gotten persistence connected to doing it alone in my life and business.  I'm not sure how that connection got made, and I know that I sure a heck need to Let Go of Trying to Figure It Out.
My focus in my life and in my business needs to be on this amazing Power of the Mastermind, Where I have found HARMONIOUS, real connections with people who want to become more, just like me. When we come together, with a definite purpose, in the spirit of HARMONY, we each become exponentially more: More loving, more giving, more willing to receive, more open to change, more enthusiastic, more passionate, more ALIVE. The Power of the Mastermind gives us All the feelings we need, for as long as we need feel them, in order to create entire worlds. Create a network marketing organization? Piece of Cake.
So, right now, right here, as I write these words to you, I am imagining all of us coming together, with a definite purpose, in a spirit of complete HARMONY, creating a whole new family the likes of which the network marketing world has never seen. I can feel the love, desire, sex, romance, enthusiasm, hope, faith and prosperity in and for All Of Us. Can You? That is what I imagine when I now feel the power of the mastermind we call Mentoring for Free.

CHAPTER 10 POWER OF THE MASTER MIND THE DRIVING FORCE
The Ninth Step toward Riches
Power is needed to translate plans into action.  Power is defined as organized effort sufficient to transmute desire into its monetary equivalent.  Effort being defined as the coordinated effort of two or more people working toward a definite end.
What makes Mentoring For Free so successful?  It's one word, Michael!  He has acquired the knowledge (Infinite Intelligence), experience (accumulated experience) and has organized this knowledge into a very teachable system.
Michael always asked for comments from us to help us gain power.  He reminded us of this last Saturday evening on the Coach's Corner Mastermind call.  He said he asks for comment so we can build our confidence.
Hill makes an analogy of a group of batteries providing more energy than a single battery.  This is a perfect example of how the mastermind group is able to create energy in each individual of the group.  Michael, by not allowing anyone in the group, to criticize another member is another example of building power within us.
The success of a mastermind group has been demonstrated many times throughout the last century.  Henry Ford began his business in poverty, illiterate and ignorant.  Within twenty-five years he had mastered these handicaps and became one of the richest men in America.
These accomplishments began when he befriended Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone, John Burrough, Luther Burbank and others.
Gandhi is another example who is probably the most powerful man who has ever lived.
Hill suggests the chief source of power is headed by Infinite Intelligence.  We'll learn more in subsequent chapters how Infinite Intelligence will help us attain the power needed to execute our plans.
Read, think and meditate as you read.  Soon the entire subject will become evident.
Anyone can wish for riches, and most people do, but only a few know that a definite plan, plus a burning desire are the only dependable means of creating effective action.

Mastermind Lesson Plan
Nobody can build this business alone. It takes a team of people to build a business just like it takes a team of people to build a skyscraper. Think about how Andrew Carnegie built his fortune. He used the ideas of his mastermind group to do it!! When he first started he knew nothing about steel. Henry Ford masterminded with Thomas Edison and Harvey Firestone. He had a sixth grade education only.
But their results that made them leaders was not dependent on their mastermind group. It was depending on themselves utilizing what they learned from them by adding it to their plan of action. They made room for it even if they did not think they could do so because they wanted to accomplish their goal so badly that they would do anything for it, just like someone would do anything for love.
They had passion and they had fun doing what they did. If they did not then they would not even bother doing it. And they abandoned all efforts that failed to produce results because they knew that if they did not get what they wanted, they would not be considered the champion. Someone else  would use their idea and become the champion instead of them.
Here is what we need to remember when we are unsure of what lies ahead:
Take massive action and get massive results!! That replaces poverty!!
Nothing else!

Throughout history there have been mastermind groups—Jesus and his Disciples, The Founding Fathers of the US, Congress, Weight Watchers, The PTA, The Science Club, Boy and Girl Scouts and even the “He-Man Woman’s Hater Club” from the TV show “The Little Rascals”, to name a few. There are groups and organizations for every imaginable activity or decision making process known to man. Yet some of us still think that we’ll be successful all by ourselves.
Would anyone even know who Jesus was without his Disciples? Would Ben Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson or James Madison been able to establish a nation and withstand the British Empire alone? Would Congress be able to make a decision…. Wait, forget that one. Ha ha ha… Would men and women from all walks of life be able to lose weight all by themselves without the support of other members trying to accomplish the same goal? A rare few are able to do it, but the majority is not, because whether we like it or not, we can’t do it alone. Yet we try to do it all the time and still have the fallacy that we can.
I’m not pointing fingers because I’m guilty as charged. For the longest time I avoided the advice, wisdom and guidance of other people. I had this grand notion that I could do it by myself. I didn’t need anyone else to get in the way of my plans. I didn’t want to let anyone get close to me because they either wouldn’t understand my ideas or they would steal them. I didn’t trust anyone. But most of all, I didn’t think anyone would even care what I wanted or what I thought.
But when you look at history, there is nothing that was ever created or decided without some kind of mastermind group. Thomas Edison, one of the greatest inventors of all time didn’t do it by himself. He wasn’t some mad scientist locked alone in his basement doing experiment after experiment and never talking them over with his close associates. I read once where he always had people around him to bounce ideas off of and kept company with other great minds to keep himself sharp.
Albert Einstein, probably the smartest person who ever lived, met with a group of other mathematicians to work on theories and notions. Napoleon Hill talks about Henry Ford always meeting with his top advisors. These are some of the greatest men who ever lived and none of them did it alone.
So why on earth do some of us think that we can? You know what? That’s pretty selfish when you think about it. I look at how selfish I have been most of my life. Keeping all the things I’ve learned and experienced to myself. And I realize how hollow my life really was. As human beings we’re meant to share. Share of ourselves, share our experiences and share our knowledge.
Without sharing and masterminding, we can’t grow. When you think about it, becoming a better person all by yourself is kind of a waste of time. What’s the point if you never share that with anyone else?
I realize now that I’m not alone any longer. I’ve got all of you in this mastermind group to share my life with, and that’s made my life worth living. It’s made me want to get up in the morning.
“Together” we can do so much more than any of us could ever do alone. Together we can change the world!
Try doing that alone!!

30 Day Mental Cleanse Confession: Last week I wanted to quit.  I said it in my post and I came so close I was seconds away from not picking up that phone and dialing in the number for the 30 Day Mental Cleanse.  It kind of made me laugh that I had such a STRONG urge to QUIT during the week on persistence.  What an ironic time to quit the 30 Day Mental Cleanse... 
Why did I want to quit?  To be 100% honest because I am not making any money in network marketing.  This doesn't really hurt me in any real way other than that I now know people who have been in MLM the same amount of time and in the same company doing the traditional method and are making a large amount of money.  I kind of feel like I look crazy to her, because I am doing a different method making no money and saying that it is a really good method.  The incredible thing is I think she was brought into my life through principles related to the Master Mind group, because she has a lot of information to teach me about direct sales and I have a lot of incredible information to share with her team.  She is also proof to me that I am with a really great network marketing company.   
Why did I pick up that phone then?  Why did I make the decision to continue with this Master Mind group?  There is something powerful about this Master Mind group.  I can't see it, but I know it is there.  Every week it seems to build upon itself and help me in ways that I cannot explain.  Without this group I know that I would have quit a long time ago.  My mentor who brought me to Mentoring For Free has basically quit right now, and he didn't stick with the 30 Day Mental Cleanse for more than 30 days. 
When I read in the book about how the Master Mind group is the secret of the world's most successful and richest men and in the bible it states that when ever two or more are gathered in my name (God = love) then their prayers and blessings are multiplied.  I have come to realize that I need this group and the power of the Master Mind group in my life no matter what happens in my life.  This is the first time in my life where I am using the power of a Master Mind group to improve my life.
Before it was always about ME and trying to prove to the world that I was SMART enough or educated enough to really make my life the best in every way.  The power of the SINGLE MIND was not that powerful in a world where we are constantly distracted by millions of different messages come to us from t.v., friends, and family every year.  It wasn't working.  I wasn't becoming more...I was becoming more filled with knowledge...but not filled with kindness, love, compassion, and positive self-talk. 
Collecting knowledge was a passion, but looking back it is like collecting grains of sand.  It will take you 1,000 lifetimes to collect all of the knowledge...and then what?  What do you do with it after that?  Show it off to others.  Try to impress people.  Try to get attention for knowing a lot of stuff. 
We need to learn "how" to think, not "what" to think.  In order to truly feel the POWER OF THE MASTERMIND group...we need to be here in a year from now!  We NEED to do this because the MAGIC that is happening here is something we cannot fully comprehend.  We NEED to experience it!  Our network marketing businesses will grow in leaps and bounds when we learn the simple religion of "kindness" and are able to grasp the full benefits of the Master Mind group in a year.
It is my belief that less than 1% of the PEOPLE on this planet work with a Master Mind group!  It is my belief that there are 99% of people that are trying to live their lives with just ONE mind!  They are trying to get through life just purely focusing on themselves and relying on themselves.  There is nothing wrong with that, but Napoleon Hill is very clear that the Master Mind group is critical to YOUR success!  He found that out of 500 of the richest and most successful people they all had a Master Mind group!  All of them!  These were part of the 1% of the richest people in the world and part of the 1% of the world that has a Master Mind group!
To be honest that is the most powerful concept I have learned from this book so far, and why I think the 30 Day Mental Cleanse is so important!  If YOU want to understand the POWER of the Master Mind group, then BE here in one year from NOW!  Don't stop coming next week or stop posting lesson plans in a month.  Be here one year from now and let's put these theories to the test.  Let's committ to this because this is something that about 1% of the people on this planet are doing.
