Recently, I've been looking back when I first moved to Boston. No Job and all the job applications I filled out could fill my small closet (no exaggeration here).
Gee I realize how unemployable I have become! I am way past this idea of becoming an employee. I have "NO Will" to follow the crowd in this matter.
I want to own my life, not be dictated by 9-5 job. I'd rather be like "young Halpin, a “go- getter” of the highest order" (Hill, Chapter 4). "Halpin deserves credit for REFUSING TO COMPROMISE WITH LIFE BY ACCEPTING AND KEEPING A JOB HE DID NOT WANT,"...(Hill). That's me too!
Well, everyone has general knowledge and skills to some degree.
So I asked myself this questions. What specialized knowledge and skill sets do I have now?
I can honestly say that when I joined my first network marketing company,I did not have any skills with network marketing nor did this company teach us about network marketing.
Then I discovered MFF, an organization of volunteers who taught me what network marketing really was and how to use a system that is duplicatable. Network marketing is about the relationships we create with others as we open ourselves. And that is magicical when you learn to be yourself, give of yourself and do it without an agenda.
Hill also explains how Ford had a team of people who could get the answers for him. He didn't need to know the answer. Aha the magic of being connected to a mastermind group! That's what we are at MFF - a mastermind group who knows how to inspire others and help each other. I don't need to have all the answers as I can just point where to find the answers!
KNOWLEDGE will not attract money, unless it is organized, and intelligently directed, through practical PLANS OF ACTION, to the DEFINITE END of accumulation of money (Hill, Chapter 4)
It's been my experience that in aquiring knowledge, you must have a mastermind group and the skills needed if you are going to be a mentor with a servant's heart. And a system to use such as MFF makes this possible for me. But the rest is up to me. To the definite end, I must take this knowledge I have learned and organize my plans into practical applications of actions I can do.
And here's another golden nugget we get at MFF - the personality colors training! Michael says to study people and we can learn to relate with others: learn what makes them tick and create good rapport with them; a know, like and trust relationship.
So in all, I have observed that the approach and the training is wonderful! We learn, get specialized skills and are trained, coached, and mentored.
A network marketer's journey is about growing, always learning and never giving up.
That's the journey I'm on now. And being a blue, I don't need to know all the hows and whys. I just get on the calls and start understanding more and more.
To get this knowledge, these specialized skills, you must stay plugged in to really understand this journey. This is why we have a mastermind group and a variety of training calls is so we can learn and grow.
Thank you Michael & Linda and all the brilliant leaders who mentor, coach and train us. I would not have these skills or knowledge if not for you folks willing to serve me with a mentor's heart.

When I read and listened to this Chapter on Specialized Knowledge, I tried to apply this chapter to why most people join the Mentoring for Free system. Most people who joined the Mentoring for Free system have struggled in creating an income from home. Some of these people want to work from home because they acquired a disability and cannot work in an office or a factory. Others may have been laid off because their company may have had to downsize to stay afloat. Then also there are others who are making a living and want to create extra income to maybe pay off some debt or to better their lives by purchasing a car or a home.
Some of these people have joined Network Marketing companies. They have realized that these companies did not have adequate training to help them acquire the specialized knowledge to build the business they so dearly desire which will bring them the income require.
There are also people who join Affiliate programs and also some gifting scams which also do not teach these people how to build an income and are just interested in taking their little money which they have now. These enterprises prey on peoples need to create an income.
Hill states that “The person who stops studying merely because he has finished school is forever hopelessly doomed to mediocrity, no matter what may be his calling. The way of success is the way of continuous pursuit of knowledge.”
The Mentoring for Free system offers people the specialized knowledge people will need to become a successful Network Marketer. Besides the weekly 10 skilled training calls which describe how to do free Marketing and free Advertising, there are also numerous calls on how to become a leader by becoming a great listener, becoming a person who knows how to think and not what to think.
I must thank all my mentors and Michael and Linda, for all they have done to get me on this road to success and have shown me where I can acquire the specialized education that I need to be successful in this wonderful Network Marketing industry.

Mr Hill stated there two kinds of a knowledge one is General the other specialized . Here is a story of a man who could not read,his name is Fred. Fred had trouble finding a job ,but finally got one as a -garbage man ,on his first day on the job the boss give him a written list of addresses were he had to pick up garbage.Fred look at the list despondently "I can't read" he confess to his boss well"said the boss" if you can't read you can't be a garbage man, he felt sorry for Fred so he handed him some bananas and wish him good luck.FRED went to sit on the park bench and think about what next,he set the bananas on the bench beside him. A man came along and asked Fred if he would sell him a banana for five cent ,Fred sold the man the banana.
Thinking about what just happened Fred place the rest of the bananas in a more noticeable position , before an hour pass he sold all of his bananas. In fact the demands was so high he raise the price to 10 cents for the last two bananas.
Fred decided to go down to the grocery store to buy as many bananas as he could with the money from his sales,back to the park bench he went. Every day through the summer he went to the park and sold bananas then he started selling different fruit,soon he found a place for himself at the gate of the park,Fred made more money than he ever had.
Some years pass and Fred found himself in the Board room of a major company to which he was selling his business which had grown to be one of the biggest food distribution companies in the United States,his company was worth hundreds of millions dollars,finally the document were ready to sign, the lawyers put then in front of Fred for him to read.
"I can't read Fred said and slide the documents over to his lawyers. The purchaser couldn't believe his ears,here you are a successful business man and can't read,just imagine what you could have been if you could of read.Fred pause for a minute and said, i know what i could have been "A GARBAGE MAN".
An educated man is one who has developed the faculties of his mind that he may acquire anything he wants,or it's equivalent,without violating the rights of others."Some people falsely believe that 'knowledge is power".It is nothing of the sort!Knowledge is only potential power.It become power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action and directed to a definite end .

Knowledge, there are two types of knowledge, General and Specialized. General knowledge is freely available to all and can be found in the Educational Institutes and the Personal and Public Libraries around the world. It is taught in our schools and universities by teachers, lecturers and professors who have great knowledge but do not teach how to organize and use knowledge to attain riches.
Knowledge only attracts riches when it is organized and intelligently directed, through practical PLANS OF ACTION, to that DEFINITE END. Lack of understanding of this fact has been the source of confusion to millions of people who falsely believe that “knowledge is power.” It is nothing of the sort! Knowledge is only potential power. It becomes power only when, and if, it is organized into definite plans of action, and directed to a definite end.
Today’s education systems still fail to teach the “missing link” HOW TO ORGANIZE AND USE KNOWLEDGE AFTER THEY ACQUIRE IT.
Hill sights Henry Ford who was accused of being an ‘uneducated pacifist’ in the media, who proved that he was an educated man who could organize a master mind group which could answer any question posed to him at the push of a button.
It is relevant to look at the derivation of educate, the word is derived from the Latin word “educo,” meaning to educe, to draw out, to DEVELOP FROM WITHIN. An educated man is not, necessarily, one who has an abundance of general or specialized knowledge. An educated man is one who has so developed the faculties of his mind that he may acquire anything he wants, or its equivalent, without violating the rights of others. Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie and many others, who only had limited formal education, come well within the meaning of this definition.
A further reason for the majority of people not taking full advantage of general knowledge is that in today’s education systems every child is taught this for free, thus there is little enthusiasm on the learner’s part to take full advantage of what is available.
If we turn now to Specialized Knowledge, this is not freely available and must be acquired at some cost, either through trade training, night schooling or research. Since a cost is involved much more attention is paid to that which is being taught or researched. A person with this specialized knowledge is highly sought after not necessarily by a single person or group but large corporations who wish to harness to knowledge for the attainment of riches.
Henry Ford and Andrew Carnegie would good examples of this where they used their Master Mind Group to bring about the development of the ford car and a steel corporation.
Hill sights several examples, where acquisition of specialized knowledge, due to a change of personal circumstance, has lead to the development of new business ventures. The lady who developed a business from the preparation of a plan, for her son to acquire a position, initially higher up the ladder of promotion, within the Company where he desired to work. The documentation, from this original plan, lead to a business for the marketing a personal services.
Throughout my life I have sought specialized knowledge, unfortunately, as a green I have had to have the whole picture before applying the knowledge obtained. I am learning though that this knowledge when harnessed to desires, coupled with immediate action is leading to much more being attained and moving me away from “procrastination” which has held me back in the past. I still have failures but I learn from them and move forward.

The Fourth Step toward Riches
We have access to General Knowledge and Specialized Knowledge - 2 kinds of knowledge. Yet only Specialized Knowledge is the basis of our earning a living or acquiring wealth.
We can look at the Chef - Specialized Knowledge in preparing food and/or pastries. Skills used in the food industry or in your home.
Mechanics - whether for bikes, passenger vehicles, heavy equipment again requires Specialized Knowledge .
Sales of any product or service requires Specialized Knowledge of the product or service.
All of the above examples can earn a good living for the individual involved and with proper financial planning wealth can be created.
