Tricks which may be used

The most amazing stupid tricks network marketing companies do is letting some legal department enforce their policies and procedures.
Give this some thought. If a network marketing company has a legal team that writes the policies and procedures and oversees the legalities of the company, the network marketing company has generally spent about a quarter of a million dollars retaining this legal department.
So now the legal department has to justify their existence, since they just added a quarter of a million dollars overhead to the company. So the legal department writes Policies and Procedures so convoluted, so confusing - it's just legalese.
And you have to read chapter 7, and remember 7.C. Then down in 19.D, they talked about it again, and you have to pull those 2 together. They talked a little bit about it up here. Now they add the rest of it down here.
But if you don't connect the two, you don't know what they're talking about.
Lawyers LOVE Writing All This BS!
Example: in some companies, the P & Ps say you are responsible to monitor your downline organization's activities. If THEY do something illegal, then YOU are responsible for that.
A friend of mine got terminated because one of his downline members recruited somebody who was in another deal sideline, which was cross recruiting. But they held the sponsor responsible, and they terminated him, so they could steal his check. Real simple. Real simple.
And your person signing the bonus checks needs to have built a downline themselves. MLM CEOs who have never built a downline do not have a clue about MLM distributors.
Network Marketing Companies Would Be NOTHING Without Distributors!
CEOs who have built a downline know that. They know that companies are nothing without the distributors.
Sure, they need a product. Yeah they have to ship a product. Yes, they have to send a bonus check. But who built the company? Who built the volume?
Answer: The distributor. And if the CEO realizes that, then they treat the distributors like gold. They don't have some legal department trying to terminate their distributors.
Stupid Trick #2
And the other stupid thing that network marketing companies do is, they don't listen to the field. The reps are in the trenches everyday. Companies need to know what their reps see, what they do, what they hear, what they say.
We tell people all the time, "Read your Policies & Procedures." I got a call the other day from the COO of a company. Actually, his secretary called me to ask some questions about why I am telling people to read their Policies & Procedures. because they have a bunch of people doing it and it ticks them off!
This company, based out of Texas, has the most ruthless Policies & Procedures you've ever seen. They are unbelievable.
Want To Sell¬ The Business YOU Built? Fuhgeddaboudit!
For example - if you wanted to sell your downline, sell your business, you have a 10-page document that you have to fill out. And before you offer the business to anybody, you have to offer to the company first.
And when you mail your request for them to buy it, you have to include a $100 nonrefundable fee. And then they can say yes or no!
Next step is, when the company says "No", they will then send you 3 upline people that you can sell your business to. You have to offer it to each of them one at a time. And the P & Ps stipulate that to buy YOUR business, they must resign their own business.
So usually, they say "No". And after all 3 have turned you down, one at a time, then you have to offer your business to somebody in your downline. And they make it so clear - they say "if you circumvent any part of this procedure, you are terminated."
so I told the secretary to have the COO call me and we could visit about the situation. And the secretary said that he does not talk to people directly!
And I said well, "Well, he talked to YOU!" So she told me he doesn't return phone calls, doesn't talk to any reps directly.
I was stunned. I sat in my chair thinking, "Wow! This is unbelievable!" Now this guy wants to talk to me to find out why I am telling people to read their policies and procedures. That is amazing. what a trip!
P.S. - Have you read YOUR P & Ps lately?

A coach and mentor

EVERY Olympic athlete has a coach. The top ones hire their own personal coach.
I've had my own mentor-coach in network marketing since 1991. One person actually once told me he thought it was a weakness for "people like you to admit that you need a coach to help you."
A weakness???
I replied that having a coach was (and is) one of the smartest things I have ever done.
A coach keeps you accountable and focused. There are just soooooo many opportunities in life to get sidetracked.
Pro athletes like Tiger Woods, Bobby Bonds, Peyton Manning, all the big stars, have several coaches. Each coach teaches their own specialty.

How To Choose A Coach
I've been married almost 38 years. If I wanted marriage counselling, would I talk to someone who's never been married? How about someone who's graduated from college with 3 or 4 degrees and never been married? Would I go to someone who's been married for 2 years or 5 years, when I've been married for 37 years? Would I go to someone married 10 years, with no children?
Or would I talk to someone who's been married 30 or 40 years or more and who has raised a couple healthy, happy kids?
Who would you want to get your coaching from? Somebody who has experienced it, or somebody who hasn't?
Many of the coaches today in network marketing have never built an organization. Or they built¬ it 5, 10, 15 years ago, but they can't build it today.
As the old saying goes, "if you can't do, teach."
So these network marketing coaches go out and teach people how to do what they can't do. What they did 10 years ago worked 10 years ago. But it doesn't work today.
So instead of being on the cutting edge of technology and learning (and USING!) the state-of-the-art in network marketing business-building, they¬ hold themselves up as a coach!
I've even seen one coach who shows you his huge downline geneology. If you look closely, you'll notice it's from 12 years ago. He hasn't done anything since.
If you're going to be coached, you want to be coached by somebody who is doing it NOW, someone who is active today.
It's crazy, but there are even¬ "coaches" who promote it as a virtue that they no longer do network marketing. They'll tell you this lets them be objective. They'll tell you that you don't need to worry about them recruiting you into some other business.
Here is the truth: there's a lot more money in network marketing than there is in coaching - IF you can actually do network marketing, AND you can do the coaching anyway, while you're building your business.
So why isn't this person in network marketing anymore?
Easy. It's because they can't do it. Plain and simple, they can't build it.
It is completely insane to choose as your coach someone who is not currently successful at network marketing. You are being ripped-off, plain and simple.
I've even talked to a couple of these "unbiased" network marketing coaches who actually don't like network marketing. They don't believe in it. Yet they will gladly take your money to coach you to success in network marketing!
One more thing - 90% of these coaches tell you that YOU have to change. They say you have to get out of your comfort zone, become this "A" type personality. And THAT is the reason it doesn't work.
Those "A" personalities can go out and do anything and be successful at it. But 92% of the world can't do that. And when you go out there telling them they have to change, it's no wonder there's such a high failure rate in network marketing.

Here's what I think:
1. You're perfect just the way you are.
2. You need belief in yourself, belief in the business.
3. Learn some skills.
4. Take action.
And to coach somebody in network marketing, the biggest thing they need coaching on is their belief. They don't believe in the industry, their company, or themselves.
Most top business people have (or once had) a true mentor, someone who's done it before and knows what to do. The person with a mentor has a big advantage. Tom "Big Al" Schreiter was my mentor for 15 years, and I never even joined his business! I would be honored to be YOUR mentor, no matter what company you are in.
As your coach, I will believe in YOU until you can believe in yourself!
