Loddy Micucci–Chapter 12

Loddy Micucci Melbourne Australia

Negative thoughts in your subconscious mind undo your positive mindset
Negative thoughts and positive thoughts cannot coexist either one or the other dominates.
Negative thoughts attract negative emotions.
The negative emotions charge up the negative thoughts and accelerate them to your subconscious mind.
If you do not take control then the default setting for your thoughts is negative.
Are you starting to get the picture of why there is so much negativity in our world.
As I read this chapter on the subconscious mind the above statements jumped off the page.
They made me realize how hard it is to remain positive.
The people in our mastermind community including me find it difficult to say our self talk 400 times each and every day.
I am making a calculated guess here by saying that we are therefor accepting the default negative setting.
Why do we even question the wisdom and experience of our mentors?
Once again our negativity stops us from embracing whole heartily the instructions clearly laid out for us.
We do not need to figure it out! Why do we make it so much harder for ourselves?
I have personally spent the last 18 months on an amazing journey to discover who I am.
The journey has been full of amazing people and opportunities coming into my life.
The mastermind community is like my family of wisdom support and trust.
Yet I still lack the faith to really believe and adopt all of the wisdom I am constantly privy to?
I am not going back into my past to look for reasons or excuses here.
The past is gone and here I am with the choice to make.
Excuses are just a lingering residue of my subconscious mind holding on to old beliefs and habits.
This week was a real test for me.
Suddenly out of the blue a special announcement was made that involved
the merger of the network marketing company I am with and another network marketing company.
The old me would have asked many questions and looked for answers.
However the new me decided to show faith, understanding and look forward to a whole new world of opportunity.
This saved me an enormous amount of heartache and provided me with a clear plan
on how to move forward.
Fortunately this frame of mind eventually also rubbed off onto my team members.
At first it was doom and gloom as if the sky was falling in.
I decided to stick to my guns and show resolve, faith and belief for the
journey and the people who had shown me clarity.
In doing so I passively defused the anger and anguish show by other members of my team.
Th end result is that we are all looking forward to an even brighter future.
This is the community I want to belong to.
Change can only scare you if you allow it to take you back to that old default setting.
I appreciate you all.

Ian Flewelling–Chapter 12

Ian Flewelling Alberta Canada

You are now engaged in shutting off
the flow of negative impulses.
How?
We can not be negative at the same time we are positive any more than a spring or a fountain can give off salt water and fresh water at the same time.
Be Positive.
It is a decision that we make. People say, “well I just can’t Love THAT person !” This might seem a hard thing to say, but it just might be true that if you can’t then you might have a hard time really loving anyone. If and since we unconsciously say and do what is locked deep inside us, how could we turn abruptly from hate to love to hate and back depending on who happens to be in our field of view at any given time ? Once upon a time Ken Klem gave us a list of emotions giving the contrasts. Love / Hate and so on. How could we abruptly change back and forth from one to the other on the surface as circumstances change, when locked inside is what we truly are?
Got to change the BIOS – Basic Input Output System. aka Bias. (the BIOS is the program that ‘boots’ your computer, and sits in the memory to keep it going)(for a permanent change refer to your nearest Bible)
Take your self by the scruff of the neck
and back your self into a corner
and give your self a good talking to !
(300 times a day !)
Andrew repeats over and over in his winning friends and influencing people that you have to be sincere ! I have said that his book is dangerous because if you do what he says, you Can influence people – Greatly, sincere or no ! Although it would be true that sooner or later the real person would come out and the whole project would stand or fall on the sincerity or insincerity, positive or negative, that sits at the core of each of us.
People say “you are what you eat”. But we do not want to apply that same saying to our Self. What we listen to, our cultural mores, all the input from our day sinks into our self and that is what we become. One of the story lines I dreamed up was the story of a rock. It sat beside the Appian Way on the way to Rome while the world came and went. It was there through all the history since the road was built. Then one day a resourceful young scientist figures out that all the sound that swirled around that rock sank into it and he was able to retrieve it. History came to life. Ouch, if walls could talk ! Still it is true that people can see what is going on inside us, few of us are truely a closed book.
You can’t take something away from people without giving them something of equal or greater value, without creating a big uproar. Try it with kids. In fact if you want to take something away from them it is best to give them something which is of greater value to them and chances are they will turn their attention away and drop what you wanted to get from them.
Decide to Be Positive. It is such a relief ! It is so interesting to see the results. Some would say it is so much fun ! It is so profitable ! It is so helpful to spread it around.

Willena Flewelling–Chapter 12

Willena Flewelling - Alberta Canada

Saturday night on the coaches corner call, we discussed the importance of
remembering a person's name, calling him by the name he wants to be called
by, and pronouncing it correctly.
What's in a name, and what effect does it have on one's subconscious?
I was born Willena Rose Cummins, first child and only daughter of my father.
When I was a small girl, I didn't like being the only Willena in my entire school.
I didn't know anyone by the name of Rose either, except for my Great Aunt
Rose, for whom I was named. I liked Aunt Rose, but saw her as old lady with
a very old-fashioned name.
My father was hospitalized off and on for two years before he died of leukemia,
when I was 7. A year later my mom remarried. We never regained the stability
we had before my father fell ill. For the next ten years we moved EVERY school
year. Always in the same town, but flip-flopping among 3 of the 5 elementary
schools. My stepfather was a kind and generous man, but "friends" at school
never let me forget that he was "the town garbage man" and an alcoholic.
By the time I reached high school, I knew most of the kids there, but I had
no close friends.
All of this magnified in my mind the fact that I was "different", and did not fit
the mold. Being the only one with my name only magnified all the other
differences, and I felt isolated and very much a misfit.
One day when I was about 16, I was complaining to my mom about being the
only Willena in a school of 1200 students. I will never forget her response.
"Willena, have you ever stopped to think that your brown eyes and your first
name are the ONLY things your father gave you, that no one can ever take
away from you?"
Wow. THAT was a slap up the side of the head. Nine years after my father's
death, I still missed him sorely. Even now, 52 years later (he passed away on
Aug. 3, 1960), there is a hole in my heart because I still miss him.
My mom's simple words turned everything around for me. It didn't matter any
more that I was "the only one", or that people would mispronounce and misspell
my name. I wasn't "different" any more... I was unique. I had something special
and precious, that I would cherish from that day forward. I decided that day
that I would name my first daughter Willena, making it a family tradition in
honour of my father. There are three Willena's now. Willena Mae, Willena Rose,
and Willena Irene. And my daughter Irene hopes to pass the name on to her
first daughter.
The sweetest sound to a person's ear is the sound of his own name. When
you are speaking with a client, use his name. Find out how to pronounce it,
and make sure you are pronouncing it correctly. It will mean so much to him,
and give him the feeling that he is important to you.

Mike Salerno–Chapter 12

Mike Salerno Centennial, CO

Chapter 12 The Subconscious Mind: The Connecting Link
“For the present, it is sufficient if you remember that you are living daily, in the midst of all manner of thought impulses which are reaching your subconscious mind, without your knowledge. Some of these impulses are negative, some are positive. You are now engaged in trying to help shut off the flow of negative impulses, and to aid in voluntarily influencing your subconscious mind, through positive impulses of DESIRE.”
-Napoleon Hill
This chapter really explains the purpose of AUTO SUGGESTION for me. It also has opened my eyes to help me understand why I dislike CHANGE. I thought it was because I am getting older and set in my ways, or maybe just because I have had a long successful relationship with my spouse, and years ago a very comfortable living for 25 years with the same company. Could be that I am mentally wired that way?
In 1992 my life got disrupted by a downsizing effort by the company I was working for was undergoing. Wow – the potential of being unemployed, my pension eligibility moved to age 65 instead of 55 (I was 39 at the time), and without a college education, the chances of me starting a new career at another company was slim to none.
In 2001 my life got interrupted again. I was able to successfully stay in the company I was employed since the 1992 event, and it was a stroke of good fortune that I landed a job in Colorado. However, this time my company was looking to displace 13,000 employees. Crap – here I go again. Now I am 9 years older and faced with the same issues stated above. And I have aged 11 more years to present day.
Look at these 2 events and try and imagine the negative impulses being passed into my subconscious, not to mention the “Seven Major Negative Emotions” that were being solidly planted and cultivated there.
This past week has been interesting because of the changes in the company I am currently associated with. These changes have reawakened all my experiences from my past. I have to start over again like I had to do so many times with my 25 year in the telecommunications industry. This opportunity is exciting and has the potential to set me free. So why am I panicking?
Rather than analyze the whys, I am going to focus on a method I have learned from this book and this team. That is the use of AUTO SUGGESTION. Hill states, “You cannot entirely control your subconscious mind, but you can voluntarily hand over to it any plan, desire, or purpose which you wish transformed into concrete form.”
Yes I have to start over, but my recovery time from some paralysis from change will be cut down to nothing. I will feed my mind with new suggestions to adapt to the new company and the ever changing me.

Lois Anna–Chapter 12

Lois Anna - Wisconsin

Chapter 12 - The Subconscious Mind
When I was in Tampa in May I heard Michael Dlouhy say "you never know who's gonna' do this thing".
It's so true and it depends on what we are thinking in our mind. Our subconscious mind is the key. What we don't know we're thinking changes our actions. We can choose to change those thoughts by spoon feeding positive thoughts through self-talk. It's the same reason why we are supposed to write our goals down on paper.
I was speaking to someone not long ago. He said he wouldn't be able to be successful at a particular MLM. And of course he was right. Whatever we think in our mind is the truth for us.
I have noticed in life that anyone can succeed. The difference between success and failure is what that person thinks in his mind.
Thank you for what I have learned through all of you,
Lois Anna
