Power of the mastermind

Would it be ok if I shared my lesson on Chapter # from Think and Grow Rich for this week’s Think and Grow Rich Lessons with You. A program that has helped thousands to change their lives and to become the person that they were intended to be. It has helped myself to become a better husband, father and friend.

rainbowNapoleon states in the chapter on the Power of the Mastermind that “Harmony is needed to achieve Our goals or any goal?”, this was a huge insight personally for many years there was a lot of disharmony with those goals and dreams that have been working towards. Harmony with those who was talking with about the goal was rare.

Often we were on two separate pages in relation to the goal one was often the desire to achieve a goal, whilst the other may have been living with fear. Masterminding we need to be in harmony and part of that lesson that was needed happened to have been learnt. Finding and choosing those who align with the goal that working towards and want to see us succeed.

1798692_856987434345661_4707733409339672507_nIt can be as simple as building a business with a team of friends, those friends need to be in alignment with the teams direction. 3 people may want to do a business in the health and wellness industry and the 4th may be saying no let’s join this business of energy and is attempting to force their idea of joining an energy company on the others .

small-groups-of-people-change-the-worldThis disharmony will create a rift and often stall that teams progress until it is dealt with. As have seen happen many a times over the years, someone may be forcing their own agenda or the rest may be going in another direction from that goal that was working on. Whilst the team would work well as a mastermind with the companies being left out of it, sharing what works for each person and helping the others to learn those skills. It can easily replace that 4th member if the mastermind was dedicated towards helping others to improve their health and life. At the same time if that mastermind was business only then the solution can be as simple as we leave companies out of the conversation.

That is what we do at mentoring for free, we leave the company out to stop the agenda and stop those from attempting to force themselves on others. Growing up our first mastermind as with my own happens to be our own family. That is where many of us learn the habits that we are attempting to change.

teamworkWe learn those relationship skills, the skills to survive from our families. They teach us all we need, after many years I am still working on changing many relationship skills that have learnt. Yes we have all been growing and getting better. It takes work and practice, working and using the skills that have learnt to achieve Your goals and dreams. Working with those who want to cooperate with You and as soon as You may say I am going to do this they will encourage You rather than saying I would stay with this for this reason.

There will be those who will support in a way as have found, they may support the idea of the project that You are working on and have their own beliefs and ideas which we need to listen to as our mastermind group. Designing a new model train layout means masterminding on its own, someone may Say I am considering doing “DCC” for running the trains. When the other may be someone who runs only “DC” trains. Essentially the two are misaligned in that area of the method of running the layout. Whilst they may be aligned with the planning, wiring and many other areas. Someone else with the DCC experience is needed to be able to supplement that weakness of the group.

TeamworkAt times I have been unaware that the person was talking to was the wrong person for that discussion or area. They had other experience that needed to know. Its just taken time to realise it’s unwise turning to someone who has never driven in their life for their opinion on buying a new car. As Michael Dlouhy says in Success in 10 Steps, “Kind of like getting marriage counseling from someone who’s never been married,

isn’t it? I’ve been married 33 years. If I wanted advice, I’d talk to someone

Fotolia_18936658_XL-1who’s been married 50 years. Not 2 years. Not “read a book about it.”” We need to choose those who have the experience of what we need.

Thank You to my amazing friends, fellow network marketers with experience who constantly show love, support, encouragement and are out there helping to become the best Ben can be my amazing friends Ken Klemm, Linda and Michael Dlouhy. Along with my amazing loving wife Jenny with her ongoing love.

Your friend for Life,

Big hugs,

P.S. Looking at moving states we need to talk with someone who has moved interstate or a long distance rather than someone who has moved more local. Say talking with someone like Ken Klemm who did a huge move to florida.
